on the DOE NAMP DQO Training
Dear Larry:
The Region, in coordination
with Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory (LLNL)/DOE, coordinated a two-day DQO Process/
Visual Sampling Plan training to R9 staff, state reps, tribal reps,
and LLNL technical staff. This training has been very beneficial
for the course participants and I would like to recommend it to
other Regions, states, and tribes. The training not only provided
a meaningful overview of the Seven-step DQO process, it also
offers the knowledge to operate the effective, electronically-based,
and no-cost Visual Sample Plan software. The Region is planning
adopt the use of Visual Sample Plan software at our sites when appropriate.
I am particularly pleased
with the large body of scientific
knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm displayed by the trainers
-- James Davidson (Pacific Northwest National Lab), Sebastian
Tindall (BHI), and Rick Blancq (DOE-RL-ER). It is hard to find
such top knowledge and great energy all in one group.
I urge you to support this
great effort.
Best Regards.
Vance Fong, Region 9 QA Manager
