Course Evaluations and Commendations
Evaluation from Donald L.
Johnson, Regional Quality Assurance Manager
March 5, 2004
TO: Larry Zaragoza
Associate Branch Chief
Regions 3,4,5,7,8 Support Branch, OSRTI
In December 2003, you and your staff arranged for the Department of
Energy to allow Mr. Sebastian Tindall to bring his quality assurance
courses to Region 6. These courses, Managing Uncertainty and Systematic
Planning for Environmental Decision-Making and the Visual Sample Plan
Training Course, were very well received by the attendees. This training
is very beneficial for anyone involved in environmental sampling. EPA
remedial project managers, EPA enforcement officers, quality assurance
staff, state agency personnel, contract personnel, and Native American
tribal personnel attended the training.
I would like to thank you
and your staff for arranging these courses and to thank Sebastian Tindall
for his efforts in giving this training. These courses are outstanding.
They are well organized and the presentations are excellent. We feel
that these courses are an excellent addition to our Region's quality
assurance training program.
Because of the quality of
these courses and our desire to have more people exposed to Sebastian
Tindall's message, we would like to have the opportunity for him to
return to Region 6 and present these courses again. I have received
several requests from remedial project managers, contractors and state
personnel to have this training presented again. Many individuals that
were unable to attend the training in December, now feel that they have
missed an opportunity and would like to have the courses here again.
We would like encourage you to arrange for these courses to be brought
to the Regions again and to allow Region 6 to again host this training.
An ideal time for this would be in the third quarter of fiscal year
2004.
I want to thank you for your
past and future assistance in this effort. Please coordinate any of
these training activities with Walt Helmick, the Superfund Quality Assurance
Officer. He can be contacted at 214-665-8373.
